I have a confession to make…

I am an unabashed pepper/salt/spice addict. There, I said it. I love my spices and M knows this all too well. lol. The purpose of this declaration is to wonder out loud why on earth restaurants bill items as "spicy" only for it to turn out sadly un-spicy. In analyzing my love for spices, I think it’s because I’m living an eternal fear that my food will be undercooked and bland. Thusly, I need the spices to cover up the taste. This is largely true as M will tell you when we went to Outback, I nervously asked the waiter if I could have my chicken "overdone". Thankfully, he appeared to have conveyed my express wishes to the chef who made my chicken just the way my momma would have made it! Well done, yet juicy. Somehow, several places I’ve been to miss the mark on getting the meat well done. I can forgo the juicy just as long as my meat tastes, well, tasty. πŸ™‚ A meal that I have been burned (several times, I might add) on is the simple burrito. You would ask how can anyone go wrong with a burrito? For starters, not even taking the time to warm up the ingredients is a good way to screw up a burrito. An unnamed place with word "Taco" in its name is guilty of serving up cold cheese and not-very-well-done chicken on their burritos (come to think of it, there were 2 offenders with the word "Taco" in their names). *sigh* So, right now, there’s only one place I can reliably get my chicken from: Outback and a certain mini-store in the mall. Now, that’s what I call "spicy" chicken. Bite me. πŸ˜€
