The number one rule that works in my play book is: [drumroll] Be. Nice. Seriously, this works for me about 75% of the time. The other times, the other party got out of the wrong side of the bed. 🙂 Case in point: I purchased some software (Essential Net Tools) from Tamosoft via a promotion by Zone Alarm (the makers of my awesome professional firewall/antispyware solution). This was back in April 2007. Fast forward to computer issues and a non-destructive recovery of my computer, the installation file becomes corrupt. Well, I had been nervous about getting in touch with them because I didn’t know if they would blow me off and require me to pay some nominal fee to get the program. Still, I went ahead and sent a really nice email even intimating that I would be much more inclined to patronize them last night. This morning, I received a link to the software and I’ve saved it on my thumb drive. I cannot wait to install it to start my shenanigans again. Just kidding. I am interested in computer security and I cannot wait to indulge myself by taking some classes on this subject. A lot of it seems arcane right now, but I just need to bide my time.
In other news, the Georgia Dawgs trounced the Auburn Tigers. I was on campus and all I could say was “Damn” seeing how seriousĂ‚Â Game Day is to people. 🙂 I actually sawĂ‚Â a car that had aĂ‚Â satellite dish perched on it.Ă‚Â That may have been a smart way to go since the media was out in full force covering the event. Still, I wish I could have gone though.Ă‚Â ThatĂ‚Â might have been better than the 2 hrsĂ‚Â I spent roaming around campus, trying to find some sort of transport serviceĂ‚Â run by the University that hadn’t shut down. Oh well, I’ve gotta run. Till next time, my friends.Ă‚Â
