A new way to manage my pictures and a new start
It’s old news that Yahoo bought out Flickr and ditched their in-house Yahoo! Photos to become Yahoo! Flickr. Well, a while back, I installed Gallery2 on my webhost and it’s eating a lot of space on the webserver. Not to mention in the event of me switching webhosts, it’ll be a pain to have to download all my pictures over again. Enter (or re-enter) Flickr, Wordpress and the Flickr Photo Album plugin. I’m in love with Flickr all over again so much so I’ve ponied up ~ $24.95 for the privilege of having an unlimited amount of photos stored there. The plugin neatly integrates my pictures on Flickr with my Wordpress blog and it makes things easier for me as far as insert pictures from my Flickr albums, etc. Here are some recent pictures I’ve taken with my trusty Fujifilm S700:
That, friends and family, is a picture of my replica of my mom’s ‘famous’ scrambled eggs (mixed with vegetables) medley. [Edit: My brother, Donald, is laying claim to the title of "best scrambled eggs" and I have to defer to his authority. 
] M cannot get enough of this and we are going through eggs like crazy in our household. Basically, you saute onions, green peppers and chili peppers in some EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) and when it’s done, you add your beaten eggs. We are cholesterol-conscious so I used 4 eggs with 3 yolks taken out. I have also invested in Egg Whites so hopefully, that will turn out nice and tasty as ‘real’ eggs.
Now, for the piece de resistance, I have found employment at my former employer nonetheless! The interview which happened last week went well and they said they were impressed by me so I feel pretty pumped up. I anticipate starting the new gig this month so all I can say now is thank Jesus!! It feels good and it’s a welcome change from research so I’ll be interested to see where I end up after this.
I’ve been experimenting with my camera and specifically, the macro on there. It’s fantastic for my skill level right now although I’ve been dreaming about a higher end SLR camera. Nevertheless, I’m going to get serious about photography and learning how to edit photographs using Adobe Photoshop. I’ve already found a couple of online tutorials, but I think if I want to make a go out of it, I will need to purchase some books on the subject. Till next time, cheers!
