Rocking and rolling

Documents have been signed. Money has exchanged hands. The apartment is ours and we plan to move in pretty soon. We’re super-stoked and I can’t wait to take JW up on her offer to go Goodwill-hunting (pun intended) to look for things to populate the apartment with. Now, it’s a 6-month lease because we don’t like commitment. Nahh, it’s just because we really don’t know where the winds of change will take us. We want to be prepared and we feel awesome about our decision to go for the more expensive place. It’s funny how a domino effect gets started figuratively speaking. Earlier in the year, I’d prevailed on M and we were voraciously scouring town for places and nothing really set our hearts aflutter. After a certain someone’s breakdown, we got started on the hunt and were on the verge of settling for apartment-second-best when M & his dad stumbled upon a ‘gem’. Now, it’s got its shortcomings, but in a space of 3 days that M and his dad found the place, we checked it out and signed our lease agreement. As M says, when it feels right, it feels right … or something like that. lol. Anyhow, we get free cable (we haven’t watched TV in years and don’t care to. Nevertheless, it’s a perk, I guess), free water, trash and pest control. It’s much closer to campus for me i.e. I can now walk to the school bus stop and just sashay my way to work. There’s a grocery store in front of the apartment complex and I’m sure I’ll be hearing things like “we don’t need to go to Walmart” from M now. lol. He absolutely hates grocery shopping especially if we have to do it at Walmart because of the hordes that shop there too. I’ll miss having the dollar theatre less than 1 mile from me. At least, I’ll save $5 a week that would have been going towards movie watching. I’ll also save money from buying delicious Pretzel Twister (tastes like Auntie Anne pretzels) pretzels or fried rice with spicy chicken from my favorite food court shops. *sigh*

JW’s looking good and healthy as her pregnancy’s progressing. It’s astounding to think that about this time last year, it was talk and now it’s happened. She looks gorgeous and I complimented her on her hair yesterday because it looked all bouncy and shiny. She’s taking vitamins and taking really good care of herself. In the next decade or so when/if it’s my time (sorry dad, I know you hate me saying that. lol), I will emulate Mrs. JW. I just found out that a person who was my supervisor in another life is now at my current workplace. I actually miss this person and I’m torn between being seen as creepy and contacting her and overcoming my fear of being seen as creepy by actually having googled her and finding out where she works part-time at least. Anyhow, I’ve gotta run. Take care and remain blessed folks!
